First printed work in Tamil

It is known that the first printed work in Tamil was published in 1578 in South India. «Thambiraan Vanakkam» was a Tamil translation of “Doctrina Christian” from Portuguese by Henrique Henriques «This was the first book to be published in an Indian language”.

However, this article talkes about the earlier printed work in Tamil from 1554.
